Role Overview: We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer based in Mexico to join a long-term enterprise initiative. This is a full-time contract position (100% remote within Mexico). You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, production-grade systems. This is a highly hands-on role where you will code daily while contributing to architectural discussions and engineering standards.

Location: Remote – Mexico only

Key Responsibilities

• Backend Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Frontend Contribution: Contribute to frontend development using React and modern UI practices.
• Cloud Engineering: Work with AWS infrastructure in production environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Architecture & Implementation: Translate architectural decisions into high-quality, maintainable code.
• Code Quality & Standards: Participate actively in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with distributed teams across the U.S., Mexico, and India.
• Technical Influence: Contribute to technical discussions and validate design decisions with strong engineering judgment.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong backend expertise in Java (required)
• Experience working with React and modern frontend practices
• Solid hands-on experience with AWS
• Experience working with distributed or U.S.-based teams
• Advanced proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Experience building and maintaining production APIs and services
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control best practices

Soft Skills

• Strong English communication skills
• Ownership mindset and proactive problem-solving approach
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Ability to influence technical decisions while remaining hands-on
